Squiggle: Collaborative Game Creation & Multiplayer Co-Play
Squiggle is a browser-based creative platform where young creators, families, and hobbyists build interactive games using visual block code and play them together in synchronized multiplayer rooms.
Built on TurboWarp and Scratch foundations under GPL-3.0 on the client and paired with Lumina Games' proprietary Cloudflare edge backend (SquiggleServer), Squiggle eliminates the friction between writing a game and hosting a live multiplayer session.
Key Platform Capabilities
- Real-Time Co-Play & Co-Editing Rooms: Stateful edge coordinators (
RoomDOandPlayDO) synchronize player inputs, room state, and presence over WebSockets. - COPPA Parental Consent Architecture: Under-13 accounts remain strictly private until a parent or guardian completes verifiable consent, with automatic 30-day purge of unconfirmed requests.
- Constrained Safe Chat & Human Moderation: Younger players communicate using curated phrase sets, and every project submitted for public discovery is checked by our 4-stage guard and a human reviewer.
- Community Helper Automation (
SquiggleBot): Integrated documentation assistant and issue triage tooling supporting creators across community channels.
